Your memories are yours. Here's what that means in practice.
You own what you write
Copyright stays with you. Every contribution is attributed to the person who sent it. Our Memory Book holds only the narrow license needed to show the book back to you and the people you invited.

You can take it with you, on every plan
Every book exports to PDF (print-ready), ZIP (every original photo, audio, and video file), and JSON (structured data). The Free plan includes JSON export; paid plans add PDF and ZIP.
We won't
- paywall JSON export, ever
You can leave, and we won't slow you down
One click deletes a book. One form deletes your whole account. Personal info is purged synchronously; related records cascade within minutes. Not "deactivate." Not "retain for 90 days."
We won't
- call a hidden retention policy "deletion"
- hold your data hostage if you stop paying. You can always export first
Your book is meant to outlive us
We commit to hosting every book on Our Memory Book for at least 10 years from its creation date. If we ever shut down, we will send every book owner a full PDF + ZIP + JSON export before the shutdown, no login required, using the email and/or phone on file.
We won't
- link-rot QR codes
- delete a book because a subscription lapsed
- walk away without returning your data
What is private stays private
Private submissions are visible only to you and the contributor. Transcripts respect the contributor's visibility choice. Verification tokens expire and can't be reused.

- share your book with anyone you didn't invite
- sell contributor phone numbers or email addresses
You can verify us
Terms, Privacy Policy, and hosting commitment are public. JSON export is the full database row, nothing hidden. Refund, export, and deletion actions are logged and auditable.

- keep a shadow copy of data you've asked us to remove
