Deleting your account: Our Memory Book

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time.

What gets deleted

Your account and login credentials: deleting immediately revokes every mobile session and API key, the same as using "Sign out everywhere". Any edit links for memories you contributed and any unused Telegram link codes stop working at the same moment. (A password reset or "Sign out everywhere" expires those edit links and link codes too, since they are credentials; you can still edit your memories from your account.)
All books you own
All submissions in your books
All uploaded media files
Your membership in other people's books
Your reactions, and the name and text on any replies you posted
Contact entries other book owners linked to your account, and contact entries and story requests keyed to the email address, phone number, or Telegram account you verified with us. Entries keyed only to a Telegram username belong to that book owner and are left in place, as are messaging records tied to a phone number you never verified with us.
Subscription and billing records. Your customer record at our payment processor is anonymised rather than deleted, so a later chargeback or dispute can still be reviewed.

What does NOT get deleted

Submissions you made to other people's books (these are owned by the book owner)

How to delete

Go to Settings from the navigation menu.
Scroll to the Your Data section.
Click Delete my account.
Confirm the deletion. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Before you delete

Consider exporting your data first so you have a copy of your memories. Once deleted, we cannot recover your account or data.

Account deactivated by our team?

A deactivation by our team is different from deleting your own account: your books, submissions, and media are untouched. You cannot reactivate it yourself. Registering again with the same email, or requesting a new verification email, will not work. Messages sent from a phone number or chat linked to a deactivated account are not saved either: the chat replies with a short notice and nothing else. Contact support if you believe this was a mistake.
